Sobriety from Drugs

Drugs are in our DNA
We’ve been taking drugs for thousands of years in one form or another. Western society has modernised and chemicalised the range of drugs available. They are in plentiful supply with a price point sensitivity to suit all pursues. Westernised drugs can wreak havoc on our mental and physical health, our wealth, careers and family life.

The drug-fuelled highs, the excitement and drama, the buying/taking rituals, and chemical sex parties far outweigh any moral or legal repercussions for the user.

The vulnerability for addiction is laid down in early childhood with evidence pointing in extreme cases to neglect and trauma through to absent parenting and emotional nurturing in milder cases.

The mentality and behavior of drug addicts and alcoholics is wholly irrational until you understand that they are completely powerless over their addiction and unless they have structured help, they have no hope
Russell Brand

Society focuses on developing our external environment: status, looks, academic success, career, rather than teaching us how to attune and regulate our inner-self.

Yes, it’s perfectly possible for a person to function for years without any obvious negative side effects from taking drugs. But the likelihood is that it will catch up with the user who may be facing some pretty dire consequences of their behaviour at the point they seek help.
