Low self esteem is related to inner self worth, feeling good enough, worthy or loveable.

It is believed that issues with self-esteem stem from childhood. It’s the negative stuff that we tend to hold on to, pushing aside all the positive experiences we have.

Our relationships with our parents, family, friends, and teachers can shape the opinions we hold about ourselves. During adolescence we struggle to feel comfortable in our bodies and/or accepted by our peers.

Sometimes it’s a significant life event such as abuse, illness, or even a betrayal that can cause self-esteem to plummet as we blame ourselves for the things that happen to us.

It can be debilitating to be prevented from achieving things in life because of low self esteem. It might stop you leaving, finding and maintaining a relationship. Enjoying a fulfilling and healthy life can seem impossible.

How does a lack of confidence show up in your life?

A study was performed to test the effects of hypnosis on the self-confidence of 22 university faculty (Stanton, 1995). Treatment consisted of hypnosis involving visualizations of confidence, both feeling confident and visualizing themselves as being confident. Relaxation training was also used to reduce any fears or anxiety. Evaluations showed that all 22 participants had improved and sustained levels of confidence following the study and during the follow-up evaluation.Stanton, H.E. (1995)

Are you living a life devoid of love? 
So many of life’s problems have their origin in the removal of love. From a complete lack of love, through to grief and rejection; it can come in many forms and from many people, including our parents, friends and partners. We feel rejected after the breakdown of our relationship, especially if we have been cheated on by our spouse. We lose close family and friends, sometimes suddenly and traumatically.

It’s not your fault that you smoke!
Although it’s pretty bad for you if you do! Most smokers get to a point that they want to quit and try to stop. It’s pretty hard to do so with pure willpower, and relapses are common.  The subconscious has been hijacked into believing that cigarettes have numerous positive benefits.  Part of the brain of a smoker actually believes smoking is the right choice to deal with everyday situations.  It’s a tool to manage emotions.  Smokers believe (subconsciously) that ciggies help them to relax if they’re stressed; keep them company if they’re lonely; comfort them if they’re sad, or even satiate them if they’re hungry.

My first question to you will be, are you really ready to quit? And it’s ok if you’re not ready yet, as it can take some time to come round to making this decision. I will send you a pre-session questionnaire, and once you’ve completed this step, we will arrange an intensive session. This is your stopping smoking process, so you need to be motivated and work in alignment with me.

What’s been learnt, needs to be undone, that part of you that thinks it’s ok to smoke will realise it’s not your fault and understand that it’s better for you not to do so anymore .
